2014 was an amazing year. On a personal note, my beautiful wife became a wonderful mother when my son Nathaniel was born on April 7th.
I had a ton of great brides and grooms and photographed some amazing weddings. The following slideshow shows a few of my favorite wedding, engagement, and family photos from the year (it was very hard to choose).
I also got to traveled to Ethiopia and Papua New Guinea to take photographs of amazing people and cultures (see www.seancaffrey.com).
One year from today I will be with Elaine and Cliff on their wedding day in Lake Louise, however last week I had a great time taking their engagement photographs. We started at 80th and Ivy (where they had their first date), walked around downtown, and got ice cream at Village Ice cream.
It would be nice if all photo sessions occurred at sunset in a picturesque open field. It is also nice when you are photographing a couple having tons of fun. This describes my latest engagement session with Beth and Dustin. We started on a overlook near Cochrane and finished in a farmers field with hay bales. I am looking forward to Beth’s and Dustin’s wedding in January, hopefully it isn’t too cold!
Last weekend I joined Natalie and Greg in Banff for an engagement session. Banff played a special role in their relationship. Unfortunately it was a very rainy day. Consequently, we sought shelter in the Banff Springs Hotel.
Paige, Chris and I took advantage of the amazing weather last weekend and headed to fish creek park and the Ranche House for a very fun engagement session. Chris and Paige even brought out their red fishing sled.
On the 21st Nora, Ryan and I headed to Banff National Park for to take some engagement photographs. Despite the forecast calling for partly cloudy weather, we ran into a torrential downpour. However, the gods smiled on Ryan and Nora and the storm passed quickly and we were able to get some photographs before the light was lost.
Two weekends ago I met with Caroline and Jason at their first home in Evanston and I was greeted by Caliya, a Alaskan Klee Kai (miniature husky). She wasn’t sure what to make of me at first, but did settle down for some photos. I can’t decide who is cuter, the dog or Caroline and Jason as a couple.
