Adelina & Brent were wed August 9th surrounded by their friends and family and, judging by the speeches, there is nothing more important to them. However the reception was much more than just speeches, it was a great party that included a karate/dance/skit hybrid demonstration that was hilarious.
So many great wedding this summer. Nora & Ryan’s wedding was no exception. It was a cross-city affair. Prep in the NE, ceremony at Spruce Meadows in the SE, pictures in Fish Creek, tea ceremony and reception at the Carriage House Inn. All done in great style and fun.
It is hard to imagine a more picturesque location for a wedding. Danica & Aaron were married on Aaron’s mother’s acreage 20 minutes north of Cochran. After a visit to the historic Bottrel general store for some photos, the ceremony was conducted in a field on the acreage and the reception was held in a quonset. Now this wasn’t just any quonset, this one was decked out with a disco ball!
Although July 28th was one of my longer weddings, it was wonderful. Thunderstorms threatened to impose their will on the day, but thankfully they never materialized. The groom started early with an old fashioned shave, with a straight razor, at the South Trail Crossing Barbershop. A very lively ceremony was held at the St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church. Afterwards photos were taken at Fish Creek Park and Heritage Park, before the reception at the Wainwright hotel. We even managed to squeeze in a few sunset shots before Natalie and Greg’s the first dance.
On June 21st, I had the opportunity to photograph a lovely couple in fantastic location, Kananaskis Country. Although the weather forecast called for thunderstorms, the sun shone all day. The couple started, and finished the day, at the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis and held their ceremony and reception at the Boundary Ranch. As horse lovers, this was the ideal location. The only small downside to selecting this location was Maria’s horse was too far away to attend.
On June 21st Sara and Matt were wed at the Cochrane Ranchhouse. You know you are in for something unique when to groomsmen have specially ordered camouflage tuxedo vests.
February 22nd was a very cold day for a wedding, thankfully Pam and Russ didn’t let this damper their spirits. It also didn’t hurt that the wedding was at a wonderful venue – the Fairmont Palliser Hotel.
My last wedding of the year was extra special. The bride (Karen) was a very close friend of my wife and my wife was in the wedding party. The wedding was held in Picton Ontario in a beautiful stone church. We visited the family farm for the bridal party photos and the reception was held in Crystal Palace. Karen did an amazing job with the fall themed decorations.
